There a Seinfeld episode where Costanza reasons that if all natural instinct are wrong, that he should just do the opposite. It was a great episode.

That is currently how I view life whenever the propaganda box say something.

I just do the complete opposite, and usually I and up on the right side

Eventually we'll catch them before they pull the same stunts as their predecessors (I hope and pray anyway)

Chris, I don't doubt that most of what you have presented are good examples of misinformation/disinformation. However if we're going to be objective about this stuff, where are the Fox & OAN etc clips and pundit commentary? If you don't present that info. then all your doing is reinforcing the same misinformation/disinformation bubbles - only show left of center examples, but nothing from right of center pundits/experts. There is no value in doing that as the majority of people who follow you are just hearing what they want to hear. I could run a thousand examples of the same thing from FOX/OAN etc and we'd all be scratching our heads going WTF! My point is why don't you do your clients a service and show how bad it is on both sides, because that is the root of the problem that is F...ing up democracies around the world.

Finally you have none of the misinformation/disinformation on election rigging/stop the steal & the J6 insurrection - let's look at the lies perppetrated by Maria Bartiromo, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, The Five etc every day. That is clearly the biggest threat to all our freedoms & liberty!

All I'm asking is if we are cynical about this stuff(which we are) then give us both sides. Your clients are smart & pretty well informed but many are locked inside the misinformation/disinformation bubble. The only way we break this vicious cycle is to start fighting back with balanced commentary/journalism, something that social media has helped destroy! Surely you get where I'm coming from?

Right wingers are banning/censoring books (that's what fascism likes to do, to prevent anything that is different from their ideology): https://pen.org/report/banned-usa-growing-movement-to-censor-books-in-schools/

This is America, we decide what we read or do not read and that freedom should not be decided for us or our kids (exception is PG but again, the parent decides that for the kids not government or schools)

Follow https://twitter.com/AccountableGOP and https://twitter.com/ProjectLincoln they call out their own party's descent into extremism and lies.

Remember the claim "Obama is going to take away your guns"? Didn't happen and Obama was in power for 8 years, that was utter fear mongering and straight lies: https://www.factcheck.org/2019/08/obama-hasnt-called-for-all-out-gun-confiscation/

Read how many Republican candidates won't outright say Election fraud is a lie and founded on zero evidence and truths, instead they push the conspiracy theory. Trump continues to lie and says he didn't lose the election. Yet many Republicans were on the same ballot as Trump and those that won (or lost), those Republicans didn't say the election was a fraud or lie. And it also doesn't pass common sense and bullshit meter, if Trump lost and it was rigged, then what about all the republicans on the same ballot who won...? It doesn't make any sense.

Kari Lake saying journalists are criminals should be locked up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9POnx_qmePQ&t=850s

So you’re ok for PUBLIC libraries and schools to censor and ban books? This is an assault on freedom of speech and expression.

Banning To Kill a Mockingbird? Seriously? What is wrong with that book?

“In total, for the nine-month period represented, the Index lists 1,586 instances of individual books being banned, affecting 1,145 unique book titles. This encompasses different types of bans, including removals of books from school libraries, prohibitions in classrooms, or both, as well as books banned from circulation during investigations resulting from challenges from parents, educators, administrators, board members, or responses to laws passed by legislatures. These numbers represent a count of cases either reported directly to PEN America and/or covered in the media; there may be other cases of bans that have not been reported and are thus not included in this count.”

Right wingers fringe gas light so much and never call themselves out. They don’t realize how their lack of understanding facts and truth is a real threat to our republic (election denial, fear mongering, and so on). It’s really sad and their partisanship is so blind it’s just crazy.

Just look at how they are attacking the FBI and men in blue and so on. I don’t listen and like left wing media either but right wing media is way way more dangerous to our republic. Example is Tucker Carlson saying to support Russia over Ukraine, etc. Truly despicable stuff.

One I’ll never forget is attacking our own military saying they are “woke” and care more about pronouns and then showing a “badass” Russia military commercial that was all masculine and “strong”, then saying from that propaganda of a commercial Russia trains and has a stronger more manly military than our weak ass “woke” military. I grew up on military bases around the world, couldn’t be farther than the truth as the US military is a volunteer force and the most trained and motivated in the world.

Now look at Russia, loser of a “2nd rate” military power with unmotivated and horrible officer leadership hierarchy. No concept of mission command and strong NCO leadership, etc.

But fringe right wingers will just attack the USA first and hate hate and fear monger all day long while celebrating Russia and other propaganda points they lie and spout to their followers.

Shows the longer you live in an information bubble the easier it is to mold that plastic human brain. This is why we swear an oath to the constitution and never to any man/woman.

Pointing out that the FBI has some questionable or corrupt practices is NOT the same as being anti-law enforcement.

Pointing out that DOD is focused on woke topics is NOT the same as supporting Russia.

There are shades of grey, and pushing for binary positions on topics cheapens the debate/discussion.

The problem is none of far right wingers read and educate for themselves they just eat up lies and talking points.

The “do your research” crowd gas lights themselves and jus eat up whatever propaganda and lies willingly down their throats.

That is why the far right is a threat to democracy, because they don’t question things and just believe lies and conspiracies that divide and will destroy this country.

You are probably correct, although others don't argue the semantics the way you do. They just conflate all of it and make it sound like the "other side" are destroying this beautiful country. But the crux is that news pundits take these issues and make them into "holier than thou" issues even when there is demonstrable evidence to the contrary.

Fox will be forced to provide discovery in the defamation case against it from the voting machine companies, which will show they damn well knew all the disinformation they were spreading were lies, and it was known to them in advance and yet they still perpetrated this BS. Thats what needs to stop...lies being used repeatedly to make money and divide people against each other.

Jeff, that is the point I'm trying to get Chris to recognize. We would all be better served if rather than venting that "our side is better than your side" , we collectively agree that both sides have real issues. I agree the 'right' seem more self righteous and down right scary with their aggressive fear mongering all the time. Let's understand it is Fox & Mainstream medias job to make money first and foremost and the way you do that in spades is by creatinga grievance narrative all the time and exaggerating and lying about the truth. I like you and most of the subscribers here are sick of this! I'm leaving the U.S. partly because of this and because I'm very concerned about the future of democracy here. People are being slowwalked into a much worse future if these zealots on both sides get elected. In the past they were the fringe, now they are the mainstream.

I only pray that the voters finally wake up to what is staring at them and push these freaks back out to the edge of the universe where they belong!

Agree, if this continues in the US, it shows we're a country in decline and wealthy people can choose where we live and work. Other countries will seem much better given our lapsing old infrastructure and so on. The far right wingers want a completely destruction of the administrative state, I've been following and studying them for awhile now, they are the biggest threat to America more than Russia or China are.

The US, like all the great nation states before us, started to fall and decline from within. It's never outside threats that destroy great nations, it's always inside threats and it usually are far right wingers. The progressive ones are the ones who continue improving society instead of fear mongering and controlling others based on insecurities and fears.

America is the world's greatest country because we were progressive, we moved society and our values forward.

“In my early years the psychology of the 1960s U.S. was aspirational and inspirational—to achieve great and noble goals. It was like nothing I have seen since. One of my earliest memories was of John F. Kennedy, an intelligent, charismatic man who painted vivid pictures of changing the world for the better—exploring outer space, achieving equal rights, and eliminating poverty. He and his ideas had a major effect on my thinking. The United States was then at its peak relative to the rest of the world, accounting for 40 percent of its economy compared to about 20 percent today; the dollar was the world’s currency; and the U.S. was the dominant military power. Being “liberal” meant being committed to moving forward in a fast and fair way, while being “conservative” meant being stuck in old and unfair ways—at least that’s how it seemed to me and to most of the people around me. As we saw it, the U.S. was rich, progressive, well managed, and on a mission to improve quickly at everything. I might have been naive but I wasn’t alone.”

Ray Dalio's latest book 'The Changing World Order' also provides a great analysis from an economic history perspective. I've felt for many years that the U.S. is the modern Roman Empire...at it's peak infallible and indestructible. The problem is, like Rome, greed and corruption end up destroying the empire. The crooked U.S. Senators just like the crooked Roman Senators are partly responsible for the destruction of the U.S. empire. It's not the administrative state that's the problem(although it has built in inefficiencies and corruption), it's the broken electoral system and the totally ineffective Electoral College which are giving us entrenched and corrupted politicians. I feel like I don't live in the "United" States anymore but rather 50 different countries each with it's own political agenda. Obviously these 50 countries within a country have their skewed political allegiances resulting in effectively two countries(Republican vs Democrat). Whatever way you dice and slice it, the prognosois is bad. There are too many people with their heads in the sand, unwilling to recognize how bad things are here now.

You are so correct, that it is the internal radical forces that are a greater risk to this country than Russia or China. I mean the fact that we have people who support QAnon(including Trump) being elected, tells you how bad it is! You would think the Republican Party leadership would come out unequivocally and denounce this BS....but it's crickets! I suppose in the end the people get what they deserve.

Do you know how many Republicans have been arrested for pedophilia? How many in the church? It's not a "one side" thing, but go ahead and keep getting gas lighted.

Yea when voters no longer choose their congressmen and senators, but "elected" officials choose them via gerrymandering, then we won't do what's best for the people--the voters. So a lot of people need to wake up. Gerrymandering is a problem for both sides but I'd argue based on the data, the right do it way worst (just look at Texas LOL).

But since we're divided into our own bubbles of left and right, we don't understand the real threat is the consolidation of power and increasing inequality but those in power love to make you believe "it's the other side" when both parties have been responsible for inflation getting this far (and Republican administrations, based on the data, are more fiscally irresponsible increasing our debt and deficit while cutting our revenue to benefit the wealthy).

Did boomers and older forget that America was most prosperous after the Great Depression? FDR was voted in because Republican right wing governance and lack of financial oversight (basically not doing their jobs) led to the population losing faith in their party? Do people realize how much higher taxes were back then and how much labor and wage productivity the US saw during those times?

Why do you think, FDR, a democrat, was voted president for 3 terms? Because he got shit done. Look at "both sides" and see who is legislating and who is governing and you'll see the real truth. Republicans cannot govern, they just blame the other side and fear monger yet doing nothing about the real issues facing Americans

I'm still waiting on "infrastructure week" and the "great healthcare plan" that was better than Obamacare LMAO. But hey, so many ppl keep getting gaslighted while real problems for Americans aren't solved.

It's that simple.

This whole fear mongering about "progressives" or whoever trying to control the population with vaccine mandates is such a joke of a conspiracy.

And guess what's happening, we are going back in time as measles to polio is coming back because people don't believe in the science of vaccines LOL.

Goodluck with that if we get another pandemic where that virus is as deadly as SARS was. The Ukraine war, hands down. Everything about it is not only fake, but extremely ruinous to all parties involved.

Everything the US/"NATO" has been doing in Ukraine - from the bioweapons labs, to the fomenting of Nazi culture, to giving them the missiles they use to kill innocent people in villages - is far darker than just electing President "10% for the Big Guy". Absolutely horrifying.

Nobody's cheering Russia on because they particularly 'love' Russia. It's the horror and revulsion of the things we do in that horrid place to provoke a manufactured enemy - and it is, in every sense of the word, a manufactured enemy. "We" need them to keep all of the grifts going. Things should have *never* gotten to the point that they are right now.

There was an article posted somewhere a few days ago about how the lack of electricity was going to close down a 100 year old business in England, forcing England to purchase whatever the product was from...Russia. I wish I had bookmarked it or something because of how absolutely unreal it was.

The Mir system is going to take over for global payments. It's been in the making for a long time. Things are so criminally stupid right now that the only reason that makes any sense for things to be so upside down is because it's being done on purpose. And to what end? What is the goal of all of this controlled collapse?

The biggest threat to this Republic isn't a bunch of country bumpkins walking around Congress. It's the repeal of the Smith/Mundt Act. All media outlets are now wholly controlled by the government and the minute you point out the glaring lies, you're deemed a 'threat'. You're a Nazi for not wanting your tax dollars to go towards arming literal Ukraine Nazis. You're a racist if you don't support the millions of people walking through our borders. You're a homophobe if you don't think kids should be castrated or sexualized.

It was only politically convenient hit piece with very questionable sources and methods. I’m not saying Hunter is a great guy at all but he’s a private citizen and so far nothing criminal otherwise the FBI or someone would’ve found something to indict him.

Hillary the same, they investigated her to death. Republicans had full control of the govt. went nowhere and even Trump admin said she was found to commit no crimes. She was not indicted.

Look at the number of indictments and criminality of Republican admins vs Democrat admins, it’s astonishing from Nixon to Trump. It’s increased the amount of indictments and charges of crimes. The Republican Party is getting more extremism and radical. It’s nuts. I no longer recognize the party I grew up believing in (limited govt that stays out of my life, low taxes, etc.)

MAGA is really a threat to democracy, they are so partisan and biased that truth and rule of law, the foundations of this country, literally doesn’t matter to them.

It’s all about winning (can’t accept losing at all), power, conspiracies, sucking their followers for money, banning books, and demonizing and f-ing up the the “others” or enemies—claims of criminality with zero evidence, calls to imprison journalists, assaulting freedom of speech and expression, cherry picking words and datapoints to push propaganda and lies.

I was searching for a direct quote and date for the fallacious claim that "the economy will come roaring back" circa 2020. However, it turns out that (at least) Mnuchin, Pence and Trump (et al) repeated various permutations of the line beginning around March 18, 2020 and proceeding throughout the year into the fall. It has later been repeated by Democrats under Biden.

First Mnuchin and then Mike Pence repeated the claim on the same day and assured the people of America that once this pandemic is over that the economy will come “roaring back.”

In early July 2020, Trump was at the podium basically proclaim victory saying that the June jobs numbers prove that the "economy is roaring back" and that it was "spectacular news".

In late August 2020, John Peterson (owner of Schuette Metals in Rothchild, Wisconsin) spoke at the RNC to say that "Trump is rebuilding and our economy is roaring back again".

Also in late August 2020, Mnuchin told a House subcommittee that the Economy Is Recovering but "More Work" Is Needed to Alleviate Pain. He was quoted as saying “Whether it is $1 trillion or $1.5 trillion, again, let’s not get caught on a number."

That was however not good enough. The Democrats wanted $3.4 TRILLION. Mnuchin said that lawmakers should not worry about the “top line” amount. When asked about Trump's claim (actually Mnuchin's own as well), that the "economy is roaring back", he said “Relative to shutting off the entire economy and relative to people thinking we would have 40 million unemployed, we are doing great."

In mid May 2021, Governor Newsom said about his $100 Billion California Comeback Plan, "This is a jumpstart for our local economies, and it’s how we’ll bring California roaring back.”

In July 2021, when Newsom signed the bill he said “Harnessing the largest surplus in state history, we’re making transformative investments across the board that will help bring all our communities roaring back from the pandemic – and pay dividends for generations to come".

Also in July 2021, Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) said that Biden's leadership is the reason "America's economy is roaring back".

In September 2021, Governor Jared Polis said that Colorado's high vaccination rate is part of why their economy is roaring back.

There's dozens of pundits, national and local news outlets, etc., that have repeated the claim including the word "roaring" during this time. They are too numerous and not worth quoting apart from pointing out that such application being used for/against whomever their agenda sought to support or speak against respectively.
