Great to know that the world's richest man is a fool and stupid. I now feel much better about myself.

Looking good this afternoon with MANU. Thanks Chris.

It feels like watching my son lining up to take a penalty kick for his travel team

Chris... Sort of off topic, but this came out today... Terrific explainer on ETH, PoS, yield, etc. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/ethereum-merge-priced

Chris- What do you think about the large option interest- Sept- $14 call and $13 put on MANU?

Tough to ignore it, especially given the rumors. Many times I’ve seen action like that prior to news, which is why the Musk thing didn’t surprise me much. Could also be nothing, but we’ll see — they have til 9/16.

Agreed on most things you said here except the SEC forcing Elon to have accountability for his "light" twitter securities fraud. I think they've shown that they wont, which is why he does it multiple times a year now.

Don't know if the Glazers would actually sell. Man U has been a cash machine for them so far. Also, a 2 billion dollar cap for one of the biggest sports brands in the world seems laughably low seeing as Broncos just sold for 4.5. NFL and EPL have the most valuable teams of any leagues, and Man U is one of the 3 biggest brands in the EPL. Id guess it sells for no less than $5B if they do go for it

It will be hard for them to come back soon in the Premier League. City, Liverpool and Chelsea are way better equipped regarding players and coach.

But it's always Man United and all the supporters base (big in Asia) that are behind the team.

I never owned a club's stock but you made me wonder.

Cheers! (I'm a portuguese West Ham fan)

It's the beginning of the season. At worst they will finish mid-table and no one will care. The only financially devastating outcome for the team would be relegation and that's just not happening. They'll get a do-over next year and maybe even make a run at a cup or something this year. The idea that the club is worth $2 bil less today than it was 18 months ago is insane and makes for a decent opportunity, in my opinion. And whether or not they start winning, any kind of new ownership stake (even minority) will start to fan the flames of a reset in perception of the club.

We are two games in and have a huge match Monday versus Liverpool. Shit can change quickly. I am Man U fan and its disgusting how poorly they have played to start the season... but it's soccer and teams can change their performance at a drop of the hat (chelsea firing their manager then winning champions league, Real Madrid firing Zidane and then winning champs league next year... ect.)

The point that Chris makes though from a financial perspective is SPOT ON. The Man U shield itself is worth $5B ALL DAY LONG. If Chelsea was $4.25B pounds when they it was a force sale (and yes major club but not as historic as Man U) Man U is well north of that
