ARKK's largest weighting was up 53.9% this year while the ETF plunged -24.6%. What happens to ARKK when Tesla - even if it is part of a longer term move higher - inevitably has a 30% drawdown?
No kidding. I think that so much of the recent gains in over-valued assets are driven by leveraged bets on the same. Either using options or literally betting the house on cryptos. It will be interesting when the music stops.
Certainly not the first asset manager who can’t get ahead of the benchmark.
If Cathie takes the “hope and pray” route instead of being proactive, the desperation will eventually set in. And who knows what crazy shit she’ll do to distract from the performance.
If you can’t beat an index, why bother with an AM? You’re right QTR, Cathie may have reached the end of the ride up.
That might be the question many ARKK investors have to ask themselves. We'll see.
