Like you I am a libertarian and disgusted by both sides, I truly think we deserve so much better. In fact if it were not for the disgusting behavior of the Democrats, I likely would have voted for RFK… but here we are. As a woman I felt compelled to respond to your comment, not once have I ever felt degraded or dismissed by JD Vance’s comments or Trumps behavior… my value and worth are not determined by random strangers - male or female. While I do not necessarily agree with Vance’s stance on women, children, or cats, those are his values and opinions, they have nothing to do with me. I feel we have become hyper focused on identity politics, feelings, emotions & to a degree it is what is becoming our undoing.Sure I could get my panties in a bunch over some cat lady comment and whatever other nonsense has been said( or taken out of context ) and vote for the current admin, but what would that leave me with? What would it leave my 4 daughters and my son with? The current admin goes against literally everything I stand for and I might add, literally everything we libertarians stand for… how could I possibly vote for someone simply bc they haven’t offended my gender, when they very things they stand for offend far more. Quite frankly as a woman , it would crush my soul to see Kamala Harris become the first female president. The first should be brilliant, charismatic and a born leader -she is none of those things. So in the end if I must choose between 2 flawed personalities , I have to choose the one who I trust not to drive this country the rest of the way over the cliff.

Nice to hear from another woman who feels the same way I do. I have to think about my kids, even if they are adults. Talk is cheap. Actions? Speak for themselves.

Thanks for the update.

Meanwhile, things are brewing in Ukraine/Russia (rare earth's war), Draghi gave a depressing speech about EU economy, how they have no weapons, no money and no people (terrible birth rates), which means no more production...oh and Volkswagen may shut down IN Germany where they of course lost their cheap gas...after letting whoever blow up Norstream blow up their own economy. All brilliant moves by the West, huh?

Zelensky, the comedian who is no longer president (no elections) in Ukraine (lapdog of neocons and clearly deranged) cusses out Brazil and China, never has anyone spoke like that to the Chinese. Ukraine, who just received another loan from the IMF after the current bondholders just took a shave (imagine the deals Blackrock thinks it's gonna swoop up). Brazil is, without a doubt, gone LULU nuts with the censorship of X and the vax mandates. Dr Bill and WHO need another hit of vaccine money so we've got monkeypox (contained within the homosexual population) and we have a new, yup...you guessed it, another vax! Seriously the world is simply going mad. Oh, and while we continue to senselessly argue about the 'lesser of two evils', Putin just signed a HUGE deal for lithium https://tass.com/economy/1837205

Make American Great Again.....or should I say Hooray for Hollywood, we had the world fooled for a century!

I'm going back under my rock, headed to the Rockies for the start of autumn and then Japan until late November. Aspens and maples....a much prettier view then what is about to begin...Sigh.

Trump has his “ women problems” but they pale in comparison to the thousands of women and children that have been raped and trafficked in the sex industry because of Joe and Kamala’s border policies. There is no comparison. As for the debate, the polls are already tilting for Trump. The people want a leader not a debater. And there was only one leader at that debate. You can disparage Trump all you want but I’m willing to bet that not any of you have half of America who loves you. Again, this was a great article!…Joseph

Did anyone else notice the disgusting smugness, smirks & hubris Kamala displayed when Trump was speaking? Reminded me a lot of Hillary & Biden. And also other DC swamp folks like Wray, Garland, Mayorkas, Peter Strzok, when they are questioned in congress. It’s like they have an absolute distain for “we the people”. All these career gov’t workers feel like they are royalty, and how dare we question them. I got that vibe big time from Kamala. She has never worked a private sector job in her life. 100% fully part of the ruling “regime”, the administrative state, the swamp, whatever you want to call it. And it shows.

You've pretty well nailed two political posts in a row, no three, with clear, rational thinking. Anyone who takes issue with you likely has TDS.

I've read and listened to you for years, you're hardly partisan and I know of which I speak as a former state senator (and hard-core partisan).

It's not just Trump, it's the 3000+ appointees he brings with him from Sec State to assistant undersecretary of the Interior. Think about the freak-clown show we've had in appointments for the last 3.5 years. That dress wearing dude who stole luggage was at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, etc.

Sam Brinton. Detained thrice for luggage thieving, pled no contest to one charge as their theft was captured on camera. Who knows, they might have been suitable for the NRC position they were appointed to in the Biden admin, however the recurring criminal behavior kinda overshadowed all else. So who am I kidding. Plus when Heath Ledger applies lipstick better than you, maybe don't wear 💄

Chris, I think your larger take is right... It took me a bit to get my head wrapped around what happened, but here's a take: Harris condescending, contemptuous facial expressions and body language reminded me or Al Gore's "sighs" when he debated Bush. Gore was roundly thought to have lost due to alienating viewers.

It shows how far we've fallen if her body language and facial expressions were coached - which I think they were. I don't think she made any play at all for the Independent vote. All she could do was mirror the disposition of her base. They saw their own hostility and contempt towards Trump in her - which was exactly the point.

I was disappointed with Trump. He almost seemed scared to bring it. He should have driven this over and over again: "She's an unabashed Marxist hiding behind her fake compassion. We know she is a fake. Her staff turnover is appalling. They know who she is, and we know who she is. She's a younger useful idiot taking over for a senile useful idiot tool of Marxist professors who want to tear down everything great about America."

It's too bad Trump lacks the discipline to let the people around him prepare him for the new landscape.

Having said that, Harris just solidified her base - that is all. It is not going to be nearly enough.

"more of a successful public relations event than it was an opportunity to explain her policy positions to the American people" - here here.

It amounted to a DNC-sanctioned game of "moderators help Kamala poke the Donald". I'd bet $ that they spent every minute since Biden's building the perfect Trump trap. Actually, probably before that, since they knew how that was gonna go without somebody helping him answer the questions. Anyhow, this week's event kinda reminded me of Trump being set on the seat of a carnival dunk-tank, and the moderator would come in and throw when Kamala's arm got tired. Matters not, he remains their Kryptonite.

First let me say I love your financial analysis and the guest writers you bring on board. With respect to Trump...I feel you have a bias there and it shows through. I don't really think you are truly objective on him but, okay, fair enough. You think Trump is the better choice and it's hard to manage personal biases. I'm Canadian and don't get to vote. If I did I'd vote for RFK (if I was in a state where I could vote for him). If Trump wins, I think we avoid WWIII. If Harris wins...well...the shit continues. That's a pretty compelling argument to vote for Trump even though I think he's an epic asshole completely unfit for the office. He's an embarrassment - ask yourself, would you like your kid to grow up to behave the way he does? Hopefully not. Not a shiny example of the kind of leader I appreicate. I won't belabour that discussion. The fact that these two are the best America can come up with just tells me the country is doomed. It's like ancient Rome in the dying days. And in actuality I doubt the President whoever it may be is really calling the shots anyway.

As for who won the debate, you think people will be smart enough to conclude Trump won? I don't think so. This is all about perception...a kind of virtual reality. Whether Trump was 'right' about things he said, and Harris was 'wrong', doesn't matter. She won the perception battle. She won the battle of winning emotions especially when she talked about abortion (something I think is morally wrong but hey...I think she won that battle). She won the debate.

Any way you look at it...the U.S. is screwed. And you've painted the financial picture quite clearly. Doug Casey just did a post on what happens when things go exponential. Quite interesting. You should maybe have him on as a guest.

You emotional Canucks are more fucked than the U.S.You may live to the North but you are downstream from all of our financial sewage.

And no she didn’t win the debate on abortion. She lied about Trump on a national abortion referendum, said there were no states that had no restrictions on abortion up to the time of delivery( there are many including neighboring Michigan and Minnesota) and she herself couldn’t answer if had any policy restrictions. Don’t know what you were watching , Glenn.

I’ve enjoyed reading your work the last couple of years but I’m really saddened by the fact that you could continue to support Trump.

This is not some BS TDS thing, this is an understanding of history. If you have any women in your life that you love and respect think about what Trump has said and done to women. Vance with his clearly misogynistic attitudes towards women “childless cat ladies “. FFS teachers and Aunts that love their families have a stake in our country’s future.

To degrade and dismiss them is disgusting.

Please read:

And understand what these people really hope to achieve.

I am a small “l” libertarian and am disgusted by both sides.

But I love my wife, daughter, sisters and nieces and could not vote for these evil men.

Trump has undoubtedly done and said some morally objectionable things regarding women, zero doubt about it. Things I'd never say and things I'd never do. Kamala Harris also has a track record of morally objectionable behavior I'd never engage in, unless you think her and Willie Brown just had a deep spiritual connection together as soul mates. I don't disagree with you, it's just that at the end of the day I believe the slate of policies Trump will bring with him (secure border, lower taxes, peace through strength, smaller government, *slightly* less spending, deregulation, etc.) will all be a far bigger net positive to the quality of life for everyone, including the women in my life that I love, than Harris' policies, which I think will lead to a quick demise of the dollar and the country leaning further socialist. I'm not voting for either of their records with the opposite sex, I'm voting on policy I think is best for country, family and community. Thanks.

Trump has two daughters, two daughters in law, grandaughters. In fact his grandaughter who will be playing golf at Univ of Miami this fall spoke highly about her grandfather at the GOP convention. You really think Trump dislikes and disrespects women? Do you think any of the woman in his life would speak to him if he did? Do you really believe all the hype and hoaxes you hear from the media?

60 million abortions in America since the inception of Roe vs Wade. That is approx. 30 million female babies that were butchered in the good old US of A, and still counting more today. So, Democrats killing 30 million American females is far more horrific than anything President Trump could or did or will do to your female family members. Evil is killing 30 million American girls. Your misconception of Evil in this world is showing. You sir represent the shriveled testicle clan of the libertarian party. Obey The Pug!

Here’s my proposal:

If the law is that a pregnancy must be taken to term no matter what, then the sperm donor must support the child until its 18th birthday. No matter what. Refusal to do so would cause forced service. Military, public service or whatever. All earnings support the child. Donor lives in a military base. Sound fair?
