It took me a bit to get my head wrapped around what happened, but here's a take: Harris condescending, contemptuous facial expressions and body language reminded me or Al Gore's "sighs" when he debated Bush. Gore was roundly thought to have lost due to alienating viewers.
It shows how far we've fallen if her body language and facial expressions were coached - which I think they were. I don't think she made any play at all for the Independent vote. All she could do was mirror the disposition of her base. They saw their own hostility and contempt towards Trump in her - which was exactly the point.
