Joe Rogan would be also respected for conducting a professional and useful interview for the American people.
Rogan is kind of a basic bitch but it’s true that he has nothing to lose by having Trump on. Hysterical lefties think he’s right wing so he’ll never get their support anyway. Trump has been very disappointing in my opinion, although the criticism and prosecution from the Democrats is obviously politically motivated and probably makes him even more popular with the diehard supporters. The best outcome of this discussion would be that Trump would begin to admit his many errors (particularly poor hiring decisions, for example) and state how he wouldn’t repeat them in a second term. Shoring that up would be providing a rough outline (details kept secret, of course) of how he would begin to dismantle the Deep State.

I responded "can you imagine the debate next summer - one candidate shows up in an orange jumper with handcuffs and the other gets rolled in via a hospital bed hooked up to a feeding tube."
That is not too far from the possibility on how fucked we are as a country. That tucker episode the other day with him in Argentina talking about inflation - makes me feel that is the path we and the rest of the world is going down.
As a I like to tell people, the US is a glorified banana republic at this time. I'd maybe rather get a residency in a real one to triage the dollar and enjoy a lower cost of living.
