UK is in the process of adopting a stronger version of the EU vision, run by Government employees. The thinking by such people is 'trust us' and 'we know best' but fail to take into account how a system run in secret with no checks or transparency is open to abuse.
It is still shocking that the UK Government run a propaganda unit, where the citizen is the enemy and any dissent from 'those who know best' is met with ruthless suppression. Most citizens remain blissfully unaware, or very careful about what is said to whom.
