When Trump took his documents he was President, Biden not so. President is chef executive officer of the government so Trump has a strong case if the court was fair. Trump also had 24 x 7 x 365 Secret Service at MarALago unlike Biden docs spread all over different geographies.

Even I am shocked that Biden admitted that it was his intention to share those documents in some fashion with someone else. I mean he had no legal authority whatsoever to have them in his private possession at any time. Shocked that he is still not being charged while Trump who had the authority but may have arguably somewhat mishandled that authority is being charged in some legally novel and unprecedented way.

Unlike with Trump, Biden's documents were stored in totally unsecured locations open to people who had some totally unrelated reason to be in their vicinity. Yard workers, building inspectors, service workers etc. many of whom totally unknown to Biden or his personal staff.

Regardless of his current capability, he can hardly claim indulgence for his capacity from the time he was a senator and then vice-president.

I can't see any way around the fact that Biden disclosed classified government information to a third party (his ghostwriter) for his own profit (book sales). IOW, it sure looks like, legally speaking, he sold government secrets for his own gain. And as Dan Star pointed out above, as VP Biden had no right to have those documents and did not have declassification authority like POTUS does.

And they're not charging him b/c he is incompetent to stand trial?! Was he incompetent to stand trial at the time he took the documents? Because that's what matters. Regardless, how can someone who is unable to stand trial perform the duties of POTUS?

It's all ridiculous. It's ridiculous for anyone to say these two cases are remotely similar. It's ridiculous Biden is skating while Trump is being prosecuted. It's now utterly ridiculous for anyone to believe Biden is running the gov't. But, these days, we live in a ridiculous banana republic. One group has 1st class legal status; the other group rides coach.

Do you think the raid on Mar A Lago was a cover to get that missing Crossfire Hurricane binder?

Among other things (Melania's underwear).

Melania's underwear are classified. Trump might say highly classified and "For Eyes Only."

The Left doesn't care that they are being sloppy, they have the power and are going to abuse it come hell or high water. President Trump must go to jail, that's their line and they are sticking to it.

Nobody stopped them from stealing the election in 2020, therefore nobody can stop them from stealing it in 2024. Fani Willis is a hero, not a scum sucking Democrat, but a hero, get it.

This mishandling of classified documents nonsense is a message to former, current, and future Presidents that the deep state is in charge. If you step out of line we will use any means legal/not legal to take you down.

If you view Hur's investigation through the lens of an impartial Department of Justice doing its best to get to the truth, then none of this makes sense.

But, if you've understood that the Department of Justice is the last place one should look for fairness or even handedness today, then you knew this would be the result from the outset. The name "Department of Justice" is about as apt today as "The Inflation Reduction Act" or "The Affordable Care Act." Read them as opposites, and they all make sense.

The purpose of power is power. That is what we're seeing.

The country is beyond divided. Why cannot we one politician stand up and say we need a national divorce. Split up into 2-4 separate countries - we would all be happier if we could just live among like minded people. We had a good 300 year run - but like 50% of marriages - it is better to split up before one of us kills the other.

The hatred for our fellow countryman is increasing and bringing 11,000,000 + illegals in from all over the world is only going to make it worst. Our politicians are probably the worst for spreading hate (both sides).

I feel that we are on brink of civil war, fitting that movie comes out next month.

What countries could we have (satire):

- The LBGTQXYZ + Transgender land

- The socialist / government controlled / everyone lives on their phone land

- the conservative agriculture / capitalist land

any other good ideas for themes for our version of Europe?

Agree, and the savagery of the tribes is getting brazen, the cities uninhabitable and the law completely ignored by the righteous elitists and their ignorant entitlement victim classes. Any sense of our unity as a country has been completely undermined by Marxist anarchists that have assumed all power in the education and media circles. There is a very big house to clean here. and whether you like Trump or not, you have no choice but to vote for him in order to stop this madness.

There's no finesse in treating the public like they are morons and incapable of seeing the double standard and using the criminal and civil justice system to bully and go after the main presidential candidate of the opposing party. Some lifelong Democrats will remove themselves from this stench and either not vote or actually pull the lever for Trump. Most Independents will do the same. Trump has demonstrated he pretty much owns the Republican Party and the vast majority of Republicans as well.

"We should be the ones knowing everything about the government. Not the other way around. We are private citizens, they are public servants. So we make all this noise. We scream foul. It is their ball, ballfield, and stadium. They call the game, rewrite the rules as they go, and we lose. How simple is that? So how will they see to it that no matter what we proles want, they win?? Shouldn't we be concentrating on that???
