Quiet an interesting article. I would like to include the following.

Flying has become a real pain in the butt. Being in an airport these days makes me feel like herded cattle.

Where are the railroads in all of this? US railroads have deteriorated to a state of almost comatose existence, and the airline industry lobbies are responsible.

Travel by rail in Europe and you will understand.

Efficient train travel would take people off the roads.

The CVD debacle have removed the most experienced and probably the best workers via early retirement, injury or death. Who replaces them....inexperienced people!!

Air travel these days...no thanks!

Agree with some: I flew about 150K mi/yr for about 15 yrs - pre-9/11. I hate flying nowadays.

The nickel and diming is what gets me. The airlines have been driving customers onto the roads for a couple decades now
