I do enjoy your Bear arguments on Tesla - they absolutely do have some merit. It is entirely possible Elon is a fraud and an arch-criminal…and his company stock goes to zero. In that event, I will lose $170/share. I wonder, though, if you make room for the case Elon is not a fraud, and perhaps he is a visionary who likes to run his mouth a little too much. When you consider the markets he is chasing, from robotaxis, to FSD, to Optimus robots, to AI, to Energy storage (which by the way will 10x the price of the stock over the next decade, by itself) - there is a path to the stock 50x-ing from here. Go ahead and laugh, but he already has a stranglehold on a couple of those markets, and if he gets even a fraction of the rest - an 8k/share price over the next decade is in the bag. From a pure mathematical investment standpoint the way I see it, you are risking 8k to get $170 - while I am risking $170 to get 8k. The asymmetry of the bet is clearly on the Bull side. I am quite certain, from your words, you believe the chances of the bull case coming to fruition are near zero - and so its ok to stand in front of the steamroller & pickup the $170. From my perspective, speaking as someone with skin in the game & who has shorted the stock in the past, the bull case coming to be, is much closer to 50/50 than people think.
If it were not for the government funding, they would have been caput long ago. The other "ventures" you mention are pretty much in the same boat. Their progress and success are a much bigger concern to the government than they are to the average individual.
