Whether or not the CDC entry policy is valid remains the real issue(of course, it's boring when a guy doesn't sperg out like Robespierre vs. the king over vaccines). The current policy is: "Noncitizens who are nonimmigrants and seeking to enter the United States by air are required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States from a foreign country. If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you will NOT be allowed to board a flight to the United States, unless you meet the criteria for an exception under the Proclamation and CDC’s Amended Order. It certainly is the individuals choice but are there societal obligations, for instance in vaccinating against smallpox, which led to the eradication in the late 70's of a disease that killed 300m people and 3 out of every 10 people who were infected?

Maybe he should take a “career break”, some “executive” position in manual processing of gravel may help him to focus. It is his choice not to be vaccinated and at the same time, it is the US administration capacity to set rules for entering the country. Dojkovic does not fit, so he should either comply or take few days off instead of the tournament, frankly who cares? It is not fair to make an exception from a (no matter how stupid) rule, just because someone’s name is Dojkovic. His “hole in the back” is the same as hole of millions of other travellers going this summer to the US.

And I am sure (well lazy to research that) that there are many places where you are not allowed to travel unless you have vaccination of some sort. Generally accepted in those cases, but for some reason COVID drives certain people nuts.
I come from a country with mandatory medical insurance (a form of an income tax), so technically everyone has access to the hospital, should it be needed. COVID has ruined this system, because virtually half of each hospital was converted into a COVID centre. The shot was not supposed to protect one from getting COVID, but to reduce the chance to end up in a hospital, which were already overcrowded by those not vaccinated and/or by those likely to have to go the hard way.
Taking the shot was a “community service”, while accepting certain “non-zero risk”. Those who avoided shot (outside of medical reasons) took a free ride as a “black passengers” of the system. Not taking “the risk” but requiring medical service should things go wrong.
Hence Dojkovic is nothing but the “black passenger”. Would he have gotten COVID, a formation of helicopters would be flying around to provide VIP service and no more hero talks about “control over his body” (I guess, everyone is hero while healthy, but that attitude may change under slow suffocation).
Does it make sense to insist on vaccination today? Probably not, the pandemic is over. Except of Dojkovic, everyone else is either vaccinated, got COVID or death and COVID has changed into another mild respiratory diseasses and is going to stay. The US rules should change, but not because of some US Open game...
