Substack is getting totally invaded by #Resistance crazies. My feed is slowly getting clogged with “Fuck Drumpf! Trump is an orange Hitler fascist turd! Trump is a Russian agent! Pee tape! Insurrection! Democracy is on the line!!!” And look, I think there’s legitimate and substantive criticisms of Trump, but this ain’t it. In the spirit of free speech I have no problem with these people expressing their views. But once there’s enough of them it’s inevitable they will start calling for Substack to crack down on “disinformation” (opinions they don’t like) and “hate speech” (disagreeing with them), so it is a bit worrying.
Don't be surprised if the new Jim Acosta actually does surprise in a good way. He is not a stupid man, and his disposition is not obviously opposed to being redirected in more positive directions. He is freed from "audience capture" to an audience that no longer really exists, and the remainders of which are unlikely to follow him here. He does have skills! And he can open doors that few Substackers even try to knock. Perhaps the "real" Jim Acosta has something to contribute.
Could go either way. Jake Tapper used to be a serious print journalist, even a serious broadcast journalist (to the extent that such things exist) before selling out at CNN. It's not like he never had the chops, he was simply ordered to use them for evil. Acosta went the same way, but I'm not aware that he ever had cops to begin with.
Spot on QTR again! In Britain, northerners say 'The truth will out'.
Now, when will the truth come out that it is in fact the CCP/China that is steering the stupid American Left's mental illnesses and delusions such as 'I think I'm in the wrong body', 'there are 49 genders' (Trump's squashed that one) 'We're all going to die from climate change unless we pay more taxes and use unreliable, expensive, comedy energy sources such as wind and solar (which need unfunny/grown up/real energy sources to maintain the fantasy)? Yes, the CCP has bought countless governments and NGOs, has massive influence in the UN and other bodies, got Soros and Newsom dancing to their tune, so the world commits suicide and won't be able to win THE big war that's coming, the one we fund by buying eveything from China.
Political Psychosis should be a DSM code in the books on mental health.
It afflicts many people of above-average "intelligence" assuming we can even measure that. I'm skeptical we can except at the extremes of neuro-pyschiatric disabilities. Even at the high end I'm skeptical, so called geniuses are often good at one or two things, and human klutzes at others. Not always of course, but ofen.
Political Psychosis is a mental illness. It's a warp field that distorts perception of even basic facts. It subjugates empirical reality to the realm of un-falsifiable postulates that, in a process of unconscious gymnastics, it then accepts as indisputably true.
Some of its victims come to realize where they've been, and like reformed members of a cult come to revile their previous state. We applaud that. Not as a victory of "us" over "them" but as a victory of them over themselves. Few writers chronicled this better than the French philosopher Albert Camus in THE REBEL. The rebel, he wrote (at least in an the abstract) doesn't humiliate, doesn't subjugate, but acts from an abstract idea of a higher level of humanity, The world's news doesn't flesh that out. Mostly it's the opposite. But therein, actually, in the implied chiaroscuro, is what Camus was talking about.
I don't know if this dude Jim Acosta is on that path or not. I don't watch TV anymore and couldn't care less what anyone on TV says. I wish him god speed and I hope he overcomes himself and what he was. If he can do that on substack, well, good.

Just respond with ……. “I did Natzie that coming”
To be called a grifter by Chelsea Clinton would be the highest flattery imaginable.
“bend to the truth” is a modification of Boenhoffer….. “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards truth”
Another excellent piece !!
You are always at the top of my reading list. And thanks for the OKLO recommendation!
Not financial advice! Read the disclaimer! And thanks for reading :)
Some people just can't seem to learn: don't box with God!
I thank you for your voice, it reflects mine. Thanks, Chris. This isn't the end of the story.
Well stated!

As they say in Britain, "spot on, old chap."
Well done Chris. Another great piece. Great to be along for the ride. Keep it up.
Ironically CNN was once the way to get real news about the world. Except for MSNBC that was the case for the MSM in general.
always on point; thanks for everything, Chris.

Paul Krugman and other MSM personalities are now on Substack. 🤢
Great article
