Good points as always Chris.

I find it ironic that many of the same people that tell me an increase of CO2 in the atmosphere by about 2ppm a year is an existential crisis to the human species and the planet we inhabit are willing to cheer on this failed effort in Ukraine that keeps inching us closer to a nuclear war. I don’t really think this ends with any nuclear weapons being fired, but our risk to a nuclear event has increased dramatically since Biden took office. A nuclear event, whether intentional or inadvertent, because of raised tensions, worries me a lot more than the American consumer’s reluctance to drive an EV.

We all know roughly how this war ends, with a negotiated peace treaty that will be similar to the one that was being brokered in March of 2020, before hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, million of lives disrupted, hundreds of billions of dollars spent, and an entire country’s infrastructure destroyed. The destruction that weak, unprincipled men like Biden, in powerful positions can do is astounding.

Is this the will of the people of the US?

Who is really running this country and making these questionable decisions?

These weapons require sophisticated targeting. Who is allowing this?

Of course it’s intentional. It takes an incredibly rare group of a holes to risk the entire planet’s existence because you lost an election. What in the world are they trying to prevent being discovered?

Transnational influence is very strong on this administration.

"I know it sounds sensationalist, but I have seen the Biden administration fuck things up in short order over the last four years: food prices, the immigration surge, weaponizing government, vilifying police and good Samaritans, encouraging petty crime and looting and letting men punch women in the face in boxing rings in the name of ‘transgender equality’. To be frank, the damage this administration has done to our country throughout just one term has been breathtaking. And sadly, this means I believe it’s reasonable to be worried about what the Biden administration may do in the next month and a half as it relates to our foreign policy."

Chris....It's hard for me to be this kind or restrained. This level of malevolent behavior, a complete disregard (and I'd suggest contempt) against the American citizens is astonishing. Even though I suspect Trump to be a swamp creature, these rulers are certifiably insane. Exactly the same behavior as the mustached-man because it is purely satanic. They have lost all reason and functioning entirely with the worst of intentions.

Personally, I thought that the worst Biden could do at this point is the pardons that will free hundreds of criminals from all their betrayals. Specifically, I wait for Hunter's pardon while I watch the citizens of the US do exactly nothing.

I agree, Chris. The tell is that Trump wasn’t consulted on the decision. Input from the incoming regime is customary when the outgoing regime makes a radical change in policy. I’m wondering if they are not goading Trump into intervening directly with Putin to avert a disaster so they can arrest him for Logan Act violations. Private citizens can’t intervene in US foreign policy. Not even when that policy is being conducted by madmen.

And since you posted this “Biden” announced that they are authorizing the use of land mines by Ukraine. So a bunch of innocent kids can be killed or maimed once the war is over.

A couple of things. First is that Joe Biden doesn’t know what is going on. The job of the director of national intelligence is to filter information getting to the president. Basically, he doesn’t need to know.

Second, the populace of any country is just along for the ride. In fact, we are tied up, gagged and thrown into the trunk while the psychopaths in control careen down the Highway to Hell drunk and high.

It’s a combination of stupidity and malevolence and, of course, in Biden’s case, senility.

Arrogant and primitive, they think Putin bluffs, but he's not playing poker as they do, he plays chess and sure has a number of strategies lined up for this. Maybe they do need to be schooled?

It's the right question, but l disagree with your conclusion. Rurik Skywalker is an all-around-skeptic, cynical about all of the players. I like his totally cynical, more nuanced take.

I should add that I have lived in Kyiv for 17 years and have stayed here throughout the war. Not a disinterested or uninformed observer.

Let me hasten to add that I love your blog. Read it for free for a couple of years before I felt absolutely compelled to give you the income you so richly deserve.

while I agree that the escalation is bat-shit crazy, I think it may ultimately work in Trump's favor because whatever happens before he takes the oath of office is not his fault. so, if things escalate and then Trump comes in and solves it, even more kudos are due.

my other concern is I read that Biden is opening the border more widely in the last several weeks of his administration to let even more illegals in to make things more difficult.

while I generally go with stupid and incompetent over evil as an explanation, in this case, evil gets my nod

Where are all the anti war democrats? Did you all retire to your gated communities and switch from LSD to Xanax? I'm sure you'll all come out of your home saunas long enough to call me a Trumper.

I'd feel more comfortable with something like this (basically letting both countries hurry up and take what they can for negotiations tactics) IF:

1. Biden were still all there. He is not and is no condition to make these decisions and probably just shakes his head yes.

2. Jake Sullivan wasn't completely idiotic, unfit for his position, wrong so often, and weak.

3. Blinken hadn't used the intelligence agencies to lie about Biden so he could take his spot.

4. The United States hadn't provoked and prolonged a war that 52% of Ukrainians want out of.

5. The idiots in the media weren't basically daring Putin to do something.

This administration has been a complete disaster.

We proved Putin into invading Ukraine when we pushed NATO further East to the point of including Ukraine. That was Putins red line, which he has been saying for 10 YEARS prior to the invasion! These shitheads only care about the regions minerals.
