Russia did not invade sovereign Ukraine in a capricious, out of the blue, action. A long trail of public and diplomatic evidence exists before The Minsk Accords were subverted by US and NATO policy. Be fair. Ukraine was the reddest of red lines, repeatedly stated by the Russian foreign ministry. Ukraine is not a vital security risk for NATO. Yet Ukraine becomes the most vital of security risks to the Russians if and when NATO infrastructure is deployed on their borderlands and adjacent to their only significant warm water port.
