Earlier this morning, I published my take on why the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict may wind up in no way reflecting the reality of the facts in the case.
For this, I blamed the mainstream media who, not unlike in the Nick Sandmann case that ultimately cost them millions, constructed their own narrative out of thin air about Rittenhouse and the facts of the case.
In my piece this morning I wrote that I thought lengthy jury deliberations were likely a bad omen for both the outcome of this case and objective truth in general.
With another day seemingly gone by without a verdict, what’s your take on how long it is taking to deliver what should be an obvious ‘not guilty’ verdict?
The facts in the moment of action suport the verdict. Deciding to attend a riot he had no business partaking in (of course her has 1A freedom of association) was pretty questioable. I get it if he found a little grocery or liquor store to stand with the owners. But running through the streets is kind of a "Here's yer sign" monent for little Kyle. He's 100% guilty of stupidity. Change my mind.
Are you saying that the mainstream media had an effect on the evidence the jury saw and on their closed-door deliberations? Did the jury have access to television broadcasts, magazine or newspaper reports, or internet chatter about the case? Typically, juries are isolated from such information. If you are claiming otherwise, can you demonstrate how the jury got access to this information?
The problem with your claim is that it shows a certain contempt for the jury system, and THAT is more of a problem than the hysteria over this case. Let the jury do their obviously THANKLESS job and deliberate over the facts and render their decision.
I will give them the benefit of the doubt and show respect for the time they have spent and seriousness they have demonstrated. They have had more exposure to the facts of the case and the opposing arguments than any of us.
The jury is not sequestered. They go home everyday, where tv and internet is available to them. Jury’s are not hidden in a room anymore. Now days that rarely happens. So it’s fairly easy to assume they have watched things out of curiosity.
Congratulations to the jury! As everyone can now see, all the various speculations and conspiracy theories have come to nothing. They did their job without regard to the suspicions about how they MIGHT have been influenced by the media. Not being sequestered made no difference in the end. Pre-trial coverage made no difference.
The best thing everyone can do next time is NOT try to stir up false speculations and passions where they don't belong. Have respect for the jury system and for the common sense and seriousness of your fellow citizens or else wind up with a system of street judges.
Mistrial with prejudice. There has been multiple severe violations committed by the prosecution. Now claims MSNBC had a hand in basically attempting to intimidate jurors. Not to mention the case should have been closed when a witness admitted on the stand he point his gun at Rittenhouse first.. This all further shows the fragility of the system.
The Left, including major media, make no secret of their hate and seek retribution by doxing the jurors. God help us. The enemy of the Constitution and Freedom is within.
easy, liberal Trump hating types not seeing the facts, just refusing to acquit. Whether you believe it or not this is a Trump thing. Is a mistrial going to mean they get a better prosecuter, yes, is that bad news for Kyle, yes. I hope he is not a sacraficial token. If he goes down the rioters will be emboldened, at some point if every jury verdict BLM or the likes don't like ends up in riots then people like Kyle will be the first, but subsequent battles won't be as publicized, we shall see where this goes.
I'm sure at this point they've all pretty well decided on guilty or innocent. They're probably just deliberating whether they want their families terrorized, their property destroyed, and their careers ended if they don't provide the outcome demanded by the growing group of protestors just outside that courtroom.
How about we get some media coverage and questioning on the Ghislaine Maxwell trial?

Don’t forget the coverage before jury selection, too.

Hopefully there’s a guy or two in there that’s heard of jury nullification
