It may be stating the obvious, but sometimes we lose the forest for the trees. The party that claims to be "progressive" is now openly and vehemently against the two most legitimately progressive ideas ever implemented by any government in human history: 1A and 2A. We take these for granted b/c they have been here all our lives. But they are uniquely populist and empowering, can be lost, and are worth defending. Everything else is noise, IMO. I hope enough people understand that this is what this election is about. The establishment politicians want these out of their way and have repeatedly stated that directly.

I flipped the table over on my last day at NYSE, and it was glorious. I have to tell you that story someday.

Good on you....when the snapback happens, the progressive liberals will not go quietly into that good night. It will be hell to pay, for a while. Hope this is the year!

"at some point, the nation will snap back in the other direction, regardless of whether it is this election cycle or not."

No, it has to be now The left fights like there is no tomorrow and the battle is here and now. No wimping out like, oh well maybe next time - there will not be a next time. The time is now, no turning away

Brilliant! Worthy of Poe. Here's a short à propos: in Soviet Russia, the press was understood to be a govt-serving apparatus, run by the govt. The two main news outlets were Pravda ("The Truth") and Izvestia ("The News"). A brilliant saying went: "In The News, there is no truth, and in The Truth there is no news". And here we are in 2024, with the dull blades and dim bulbs of our contemporary press serving out slop like their Soviet counterparts of old. We should know sometime mid, maybe late January who wins Tuesday. Y'all hold on for a bumpy ride🤣

Great commentary, as usual. Your anger is a gift! "Brian Stelter starts new job replacing urinal cakes at Joe Rogans comedy club" I NEEDED exactly that this morning and you delivered - Thank you!

Prior to Rick Santelli’s rant on MSNBC circa 2006 that led to the Tea Party movement my mind’s eye was covered by the scales of ignorance. Now I am no dummy, but I never did my homework. Soon after that I first learned that our currency is printed by the cartel of private banks and has a baked in program of devaluation. Nearly 40 years of living in the Matrix without a clue that I was asleep, followed by the growing existential anxiety from watching the globalists slowly drag us into Hell. Come this Tuesday, I may just have to find a table to flip.

Extremely well written article and apropos. As to when we’ll know who won the election, cmon, Wednesday. The MSM is going to tell you Wednesday regardless of what the results really are. There’ll be concerned faces, heavy sighs, then the parental “I need to tell you some bad shit” tone, and boom, results. Other than a wave big enough that it overcomes even the biggest cheat you know what Wednesday will be. I hope I’m wrong but following the script of the past 4 years or so, probably not.

As to the abortion distraction, which is what it really is after being sent to the states, if you’re one issue voter enough to base your entire decision on that to the myriad economic and international issues problematic in this and her administration then we have nothing to discuss. I respect your right to base your decision that way but won’t debate it.

Truth is I think like every empire it comes with a hard experation date.

Debasement if the currency starts the countdown. Going off golf standard to continue social spending and the military industrial conglomerate has made us poor and the tab is due. Only the debt is ot payable.

What happens if foreigner wealth comes in and buys out everything.

Raven: The saddest part of the entire election "process" is the amount of fear and doubt that will be in the result..no matter the winner. For a country such as the USA to have such antiquated voting rules and regulations...and now witnessing first hand the alleged "cheating" in Kentucky...thank god for cell phones...to the judges making decisions on mail in ballots (Soros was ahead of his time with packing the courts at the state level) to the long lines at early voting stations in Bucks County...it is amazing that anyone can decide on whether or not they want french fries with the meal? To think that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz is the best that the Democratic party can offer is sad to say the least...but then again to see that Republicans within their own party (McConnell comes to mind) that are willing to sabotage their party is well....Fucked Up....The real shame of the state of the Union today is how no one can see how great something can be if wee could all agree on something together? The Billionaire Class has won as they continue to keep the culture war alive at the minion level (yes me) while the Class Warfare gets buried by their divisive rhetoric...While the other countries come together (think BRIICS) the unleashing of the migrants continues unabated as todays' Democrats greedily could care less about their own kids futures...Even if Trump wins the factions of Hate will continue to prevent him from having any success....

Harris and Walz are as irrelevant as the identity of a sock puppet is irrelevant. Any Democrat is simply a tool of the Machine. The Machine does not want puppets that have a mind of their own. They simply need to be good at obeying orders.

I'm getting bummed out. I've got the pre-election blues. I quit drinking years ago, but like Lloyd Bridges, "It looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue." Every article by my go-to substackers, like QTR, have a melancholy, "well, WTF, we tried" kind of vibe like this one. Like your friend flipping the table on the way out after a decent but mostly symbolic win, we're the drunken frat bro getting hauled out of the keg party in shame, but with the quiet knowledge of a reeking upper decker in the commode that will at least confound and discomfort the hosts for the next couple of days. I want to wake up on Wednesday with Lutnick, Musk and RFK walking into buildings in DC carrying sinks. More likely we'll wish, after exercising the franchise, we found the head on our way out, fumbled belt buckle, and took the lid off the tank.
