I was a New Yorker for decades. Never would have been in Trump's social circles but read about him -- on morning subway commutes -- usually NY Post page 6 antics.

I found him vulgar and repulsive. A rich brat who never had to make rent with a loud mouth and gaudy ostentatious buildings. It's easy to be a winner if your daddy's rich. Go out and make rent from $0, then tell me what a winner is. And if you lose, learn something about life.

My perspective has evolved.

I missed then the performance artist quality he possesses. The character and the person are mixed in strange ways, like two clouds of fog that blow together. I missed that he doesn't lose himself completely in his character, there's a toe-hold he has that brings him back to sanity and life.

Like it's all a big joke and he's just a comedian performing.

Most of his critics don't have that toe hold. They lose themselves in the blindness of their own minds and become the very thing they say they hate. As people will.

Whatever he is, he's better than his critics. I'm glad I'm not one anymore.

Huge fail from the Secret Service. Any decent Deer Hunter can hit a target from 130 yards. How was the shooter’s position not identified and secured long before the start of the event ?? Whoever is running the Country and Secret Service is truly desperate.
