i think Musk really bought Twitter cause it was something for the rich to play with......just like a billionaire would buy a baseball team.........

Musk's purchase of Twitter has laid bare the ugly tendencies of the left. Much like Trump's election brought the corrupt deep state into plain view. You can argue about their motivations, but both have done important services.

QTR - this article proves you are a White Supremacist........hahahaaha

The Left was so brainwashed during COVID - they do not understand the difference between having a conversation (with differing opinions) and free speech. In their world - if you do not agree with them you are either a white supremacist or you are spreading misinformation. It's the only answers they have because they are unwilling to have an educated conversation.

Good, nuanced writeup. I'm a confirmed anti-fan of Musk, and find a lot of irony in the twitter debacle since I think there is fair evidence that he was using his influence to negatively affect 'unfavorable to TESLA' accounts several years ago. All that said, as you point out, the left would do well to concede that the previous senior management team at twitter makes him look like Edward Deming in comparison. They should shut up about him running twitter as an enemy of free speech, continue advertising while insisting on lower ad fees to take advantage of the temporary ad flight, and get back to just spouting nonsense on twitter like everyone else ;)

i get the sense you don't see muskrat as a frontguy for deep state? the little bird as a means to kettle dissidents and punish them with a bad social credit score when the cbdc gets rolled out?

all the social media startups were bankrolled by the cia and in-q-tel, their investment arm.

muskrat's grandfather was the head of technocracy inc. https://www.technocracy.news/shock-elon-musks-grandfather-was-head-of-canadas-technocracy-movement/

I tend to agree with nymusicdaily on this one. Musk has “deep state” spelled all over his companies, all seem to fit hand-in-glove with the WEF’s technocratic agenda, and were financed by the deep state banks. Personally, I don’t notice any difference on Twitter. The same leftie Blue Checkmarks are still pushed into my feed and many comments disappear. When checking other people’s tweets, I see a lot of “offensive comments” below, and they are not offensive at all. Have any of the algorithms really changed? I doubt it.

Twitter seems like the Hundred Flowers Campaign by Mao, temporarily allowing people to criticize the system, only for the CCP to round them up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Flowers_Campaign

p.s. the same it true for ZeroHedge IMHO. They sold out too Google Ads, they banned free speech, but sell it back to you if you buy a subscription and give them your name, address and credit card details.

Interesting observations. Although intuitively I lean in your direction regarding Musk, I am willing to consider that the jury is still out on the question. A few dramatic things like the mass layoffs have happened quickly, but he really hasn't had long enough to make the deep-down changes many of us are hoping for.

Re: ZeroHedge banning free speech, are you referring to the content itself or the way in which the Comments section is handled? I visit that site every day (free, no sub), and I still find their content pretty free-wheeling. But that is one website where I pretty much ignore the Comments, so I would not have noticed.

Regarding the limitations of free speech I was specifically talking about the ZH comment section.

Regarding the articles, IMHO too much Trump/crypto pumping. ZH took a turn for the worst when they jumped on the Trump Bandwagon in 2016. By pumping one specific candidate, instead of forming a more general counterweight against the leftwing woke madness, they are contributing to the gridlock and polarization inside the conservative movement. As we’ve seen between 2017-2021, Trump achieved l next to nothing (other than 'coincidentally' playing right into the deep state’s hands with increases in MIC spending, Operation Warp Speed, hiring money-printer Powell, and arresting Assange), and I’m afraid it will be the same for Musk and his Twitter takeover.

Needless to say, ZH has now also resorted to pumping Musk 24/7. They seem to have a preference for pumping conmen/billionaires who work directly or indirectly for the deep state.

What ZH seems to be doing is assisting in the increased polarisation of society, whether it's the conservative movement with Trump, the endorsement of Musk, or the 'Blue vs Red' society as a whole. What I'm afraid we will end up with will be 2 echo chambers, one for the lefties (MSM, Facebook, Google/Youtube) and one for the righties ("alt" media, Twitter), BOTH controlled by the deep state. It's called divide & rule.

I largely agree with all of the above. They do boost Trump a lot, for example, and as you say, they are now on the Musk train (for the time being). But rather than supporting these people and these causes in particular, I think the overall theme on ZH is just "own the libs"--their administrators lean pretty heavily on the snark lever when they see the opportunity. I can almost hear them chuckling in the background if I turn my speakers up....

As for thei ZH comments section, I abandoned it a long time ago--it's largely a wasteland. There are much more interesting conversations going on elsewhere.

The way to look at this is that Musk is gaming western leftist norms, the thought of “reasonable” intellectuals that have “sensible” ways of looking at things. Im probably and old evolved counterculturist, but I am loving it. I have been sickened by how far it is being pushed, for example the “normalization” of things like the acceptability of “our” nuclear waste assistant secretary and the good admiral. You know how i mean…. and how freakish the country has become…. Like the acceptability of fedrerman as PA’s senator.. I know oz was weird, but this is inexplicable….

How's many bots continue to operate on Twitter. Is it possible Twitter's user base increase is in reality an increase in the number of bots? Why isn't EM talking about bots since his successful purchase and becoming chief Twit? Surely a smaller work force will result in fewer bots ... right?

I’m pretty sure you could rewrite this article for 100 different companies starting with CNN and the New York Times and it would be a long list all ...Look at what has become of the Wall Street Journal, and Tim Cook still married to his ideology, that he is willing to turn away millions of iPhone users, by making decisions that serve his political ideology as opposed to corporate strategy.... how many Trump voters from his 77 million, would dump their iPhones to snap up a Twitter phone... 10....20....40%?? What is the upside to Apple of idealistically motivated strategies

I see the value in Twitter as a disseminator of news as it allows for immediate coverage of breaking events. I do not see the value in Twitter as a disseminator of ideas or controversial topics. How can anyone convey facts and opinions with a 280 character limit? If anything, Twitter is leading the way toward dumbing down discourse into snappy one-liners and retorts. It is to the point where folks would be unable to write a legible and thoughtful paragraph about any topic without resorting to hashtags and flippant statements. Sad.

The MSM (Main Stream Media) has been controlled by a very few hands, insofaras avoiding anything that even hints as "power to the people" aka populism. When Trump and now Musk even hint at it, the left goes nuts...what is not so clear is how Fox will react when the right figures out that they depend on a status quo of Top -Down control over certain narratives also....Israel is sacrosanct for instance...changing the world order from the Vatican control over certain narratives, to who wins if Russia wins (over Ukraine)..all these narratives dont sit well with certain neo-cons. The other aspect to consider is whether Musk will alienate himself from so many folk on both sides of the aisle, kinda like Trump, that he risks losing future Tesla buyers, as well as Twitter users. Not to mention the risk he runs of being de-platformed by Apple, Google even, who btw are aligned to big advertising interests just like the MSM.

I might go back on twitter. Although even if there is free speech on there. There has not been free speech in the UK for some years now.

You can't criticise someone who is part of a minority or a female as if they feel threatened or like your being sexual then you've broken the law I does not matter what you said or how you meant it. If they feel it was negative then the police get involved.

“I was wrong” “I’m sorry”. You will never hear these from the rabid jackals on the left. To your point, the left created Trump 2016 and promoted him with massive free advertising nightly. Elon’s Twitter is so lovely to watch. Especially those that say they’ll leave but visibly complain on Twitter. They can’t help themselves. Just beautiful
