In the midst of unprecedented inflation, skyrocketing commodity prices and projected food shortages and supply chain issues arising as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, an interesting story has started to surface: food processing plants globally appear to be catching fire and burning down at a notable rate.
First, lets examine what seems odd. For weeks, social media users and bloggers have been throwing around the story that dozens of food processing facilities have mysteriously burned down over the last few months.
It’s a phenomenon that has even caught the attention of top rated cable TV news host Tucker Carlson, who spoke about it this week.
“This is the second time in a week something like this happened,” Carlson said about breaking news after a plane crashed into a food facility in Georgia.
“So industrial accidents happen, of course, but this is a lot of industrial accidents at food processing plants. At the same time the president is warning us of food shortages. They’re getting hit by planes and catching on fire. What is going on here?” Carlson asked.
Carlson’s guest, Jason Rantz opined: “It could lead to some serious food shortages. That’s why people are wondering, well, number one, what’s going on? And you’ve got people speculating that this might be an intentional way to disrupt the food supply. Police are saying that these fires are due to faulty issues with equipment, so they’re not saying this was intentional."
But Carlson admitted there was little in the way of evidence of a conspiracy: “The onus is on people who think this is a conspiracy theory to explain what is going on, what are the odds of that. I have no idea.”
The Western Standard has also been following the story closely and found dozens upon dozens of incidents globally.
“Beyond North American food processing plants, there have been dozens more food processing facilities destroyed in fires and explosions in the last two years,” the outlet wrote days ago.
“Fires in the food industry are not uncommon,” but the incidents appear to be on the rise, the report said.
The outlet recapped some of the more recent incidents, which it compiled in this list (this is only a partial list, TWS’s full list is here):
On Monday, 43,000 chickens died in a massive fire that destroyed four chicken houses on a farm in the Dutch town of Heusden, according to World Today News.
In March, a fire at a poultry farm in India killed 3,500 chickens. According to PiPa News, the fire destroyed the entire farm.
Another poultry farm in India was also hit by fire in March killing 8,500 chicks. Times of Indiareported the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
In January, a fire at a poultry farm in Kerala, India killed more than 2,500 chickens, according to The Print.
In December 2021, 8,000 chickens were killed in a poultry farm blaze in Sri Lanka. News Firstreported the fire was likely sparked by an “electrical leak.”
A massive blaze at a Northern Ireland farm killed hundreds of pigs in November 2021, as reported by News Letter. No one was injured.
In October 2021, a large fire at a Fermanagh poultry farm in Northern Ireland killed 16,000 birds. It took firefighters more than seven hours to get control of the fire, as reported by That’sFarming.
A large fire broke out in September 2021 at a Chilean food processing plant. Although no injuries were reported, several crews were needed to battle the blaze, as reported by La Tercera.
In July 2021, a deadly fire at a Bangladesh food processing factory kills at least 52 people, as reported by Aljazeera.
Another fire at a poultry house in East Yorkshire, England in July 2021 killed 50,000 chickens. The fire was said to be caused by accidental ignition, as reported by the Daily Mail.
In April 2021, over 55,000 pigs were killed after a fire broke out at a German pig farm. USA Today reported the cause of the blaze was unclear.
Additionally, the FBI has also warned about cyberattacks against food processing plants (yet another reason I like cybersecurity stocks) in the days following coverage of the fires.
If you enjoy my work, have the means and want to support Fringe Finance, as well as gain access to all of my articles, you can subscribe here:
Zero Hedge reported last weekend that the FBI's Cyber Division published a notice warning about increased cyber-attack threats on agricultural cooperatives.
"Ransomware actors may be more likely to attack agricultural cooperatives during critical planting and harvest seasons, disrupting operations, causing financial loss, and negatively impacting the food supply chain," the notice read, adding 2021 and early 2022 ransomware attacks on farming co-ops could affect the current planting season "by disrupting the supply of seeds and fertilizer."
The agency warned, "A significant disruption of grain production could impact the entire food chain, since grain is not only consumed by humans but also used for animal feed ... In addition, a significant disruption of grain and corn production could impact commodities trading and stocks. "
Zero Hedge astutely noted that this is “all happening as the Ukraine-Russian conflict has disrupted the global food supply chain. Food prices are at record highs, and the Rockefeller Foundation just released their timeframe of when a ‘massive, immediate food crisis’ may begin -- they say, ‘in the next six months.’”
Now, let’s examine the skeptical side. There are tens of thousands of such facilities globally, and so “dozens” of fires aren’t exactly statistically significant. Logically writes:
Upon investigation, Logically found many articles about fires and accidents at food processing units in 2019. According to a 2019 report by USDA, the United States has more than 36,000 food and beverage processing units in operation. Minor damages through fires to a small handful of food processing factories would not cause a food shortage across the country.
And fact checkers seem to be in unison that there were little to no evidence of foul play in any of the incidents. The crew at PolitiFact said:
We looked at each of the 18 fires mentioned in the Facebook post and found no evidence that any of them were intentionally set.
Twelve were either ruled accidental, or no foul play was suspected. One was at a vacant building that once housed a meat plant. In five others, the fires are either still under investigation or investigators have not publicly announced any cause found — intentional or otherwise.
Some of the plants were completely destroyed or heavily damaged, while others suffered minor damage with little impact on food production. Though the post said the 18 fires happened in the past six months, only 12 of those happened in that time frame.
The claim of a new “trend” of fires at food processing facilities does not hold up upon scrutiny. Almost all of the fires on meme lists involved explainable causes, and we found no examples of suspected arson.
Well I guess that settles it then, right? You can read the full “debunking” of the narrative here.
As with all forum posts, I’d love to know what my readers think: coincidence or something more?
Certainly something to keep an eye on and maybe make sure you’ve got some canned goods in the cabinet. But I’ve read that we’re slightly above the average amount of incidents at food plants for 2022 (how that number is calculated? F if I know!)
The most concerning thing I’ve read though, is that Snopes debunking!
I looked into it a couple of weeks ago. We average 8 food processing plant fires in the US per year, not always a total loss. There have been 25 so far in 2022 with all a total loss.
-Something more. I may sound like a quack, but am not; married, with sort of a homestead, couple rentals, a trade, and a Christian. Several years ago, while doubting what i saw, i noticed that there were some minor word changes in the King James, not that the Hebrew or Greek had changed. I do not mean the publication was updated, but the changes were supernatural as if it always was, but not as i remember, and not as anyone i talked to could remember either. Of coarse you’d have to had a good memory. The most notable was all the places the the word grain had been, now say corn. As i can remember there were only a couple places that used corn and that was for kernel as all of them are now. I’ve lost sleep over this, but have can only surmise that a warning has been given. Who really checks back on and reads the KJV- i do periodically because of the Strongs concordance. My response is to install a family fishing pond- its about 1/2 acre with a liner. The only other thing has been to tell as many as i can of some sort of coming famine, or at least very expensive food. Everyone should read very carefully the story of Joseph. My email is jeffrobbins475@gmail.com
Do you mean an online or kindle copy of the Bible or a physical hardcopy?
If it's physical books at church, well yes those could be swapped out. Things online or on Kindle can be changed or updated. I would raise my eyebrow if it's your personal Bible or a family Bible. If the that is the only word you've noticed changed, I will say this: The corn grain is a new world food, not known in the old world or the biblical world. However, historically, the word "corn" existed and was commonly used prior to the discovery of the new world. The word "corn" was interchangeable with "grain", similar to how the word "wool" didn't only mean sheep's wool but meant all fibers spun into yarn.
There is a phenomenon called a Mandela Effect. This sounds possibly like what you are describing. Another possibility is that we are actually in a simulation, I go back and forth as to whether I can convince myself to think that's possible.
I mean the Bible’s on my shelf. Yes I’m aware of the Mandela effect- not sure of what to make of it myself as there are some other things not as we remember them. First time for anything like this was an almost argument with my wife over the kid books with the bears. I always say it that way as not to persuade the person I’m talking to as to the spelling and pronunciation of those bears, but there most certainly was not an ‘a’ in the name before 9 or 10 years ago.
I think the more likely explanation is that our reality is not 3 dimensional, but more. I believe string theory claims 10 dimensions. Remember that science is the exploration of creation. And i will also claim to have heard both the voice of God once and the Holy Spirit on certain occasions. There’s several things to ponder like how is a day like a thousand years and thousand years like a day. What does Paul mean by a great cloud of witnesses? How about the chariots of fire Elishas servant was allowed to see? There’s others, but I’m confident theres more to this life than we can even guess. Jesus said a few times that seeing they don’t see and hearing they don’t hear, and i wonder about what we don’t see or hear. Tech seems to be quite a distraction all in itself. And not just about the above, but also about not seeing the widow, the poor, the broken hearted, etc. I’ve got a good story about a financial blessing i claim to be the direct result of showing kindness to a preachers widow, but of coarse the motive was because i was pissed off that she couldn’t find anyone to rent to her for cheap, so i did and then God did. I can’t explain much other than the Bible has a lot to ponder.
An environmental terrorist was arrested for setting two fires. What's the joint probability that all of these incidents happen at the same time, and don't forget the millions and millions of chickens that have been euthenized due to "bird flu." Plus Gates buying up tons of farmland and wanting us to eat bugs and fake meats. I don't have to prove squat. It's there for any who want to see.
I ran the numbers on the "Bill Gates is buying up all the farmland" shtick and compared his holdings (a lot but not all that much more than the Dutton Ranch), and it's 1/5300 of the Ag land in the US. So yes it is "tons" but a speck of what is out there...
I don't know about satan and all that but it seems that those who believe themselves to be the arbiters of truth and keeper of the human race are off their rocker.
I am at a point with all this now where I think everything is a conspiracy and I am suspicious of everything. I pick a few that I listen to (yourself included) who have enough about them to know they have little idea what the fcuk is going on, but are giving their best guess.
Mindfuckery or clusterfuckery….. that is the question.
Conspiracies have moved from theory to fact on record time of late. Don't forget the CIA invented the term "conspiracy theory" to marginalize and discredit those catching onto their fuckery.
There are something like 33,600 food processing plants in the US. Since 2017, there has been an average of 8 per year destroyed by fire. So far in 2022 there have been 25.
Many food processing plants maintain a night shift. Since covid, they have been short staffed. The day shift might have 35 when fully staffed would be 40. The night shift running on 18 or 19. Maintenance is overlooked, people are overworked, accidents are more likely to happen. However, all of the recent fires have something on common, the fires are totally destructive, nothing remains. Not so in the fires of previous years. Fires around the world have all been near identical.
I suspect cyber attacks. Someone hacks in and shuts off overheating or maintenance alarms, then cuts off lubricant or overheats key machinery. I also wonder if the same perpetrators are responsible for the burning of the Moskva in the Black Sea and several recent fires in Russia. This could be an act of war but I doubt it. Putting on my thinking cap (yes, it's made of tin, what if it?) I suspect the US government (one of the alphabet brigades) or WEF is somehow responsible.
It could be a side effect of COVID shutdowns and extended unemployment. Plants are operating at full capacity and are desperate to hire help. Staff are new and incompetent, and make mistakes. If the fires were deliberate I would expect a lot more of them than have actually occurred. A few dozen worldwide isn't very many.
Why aren't those same incidents happening in other facilities, where I have knowledge that many "boom rooms" (hazmat storage) are empty because they're understaffed and overworked, yet no spills or fires? It's only good.
I don't know. Maybe because the people in those hazmat facilities aren't cooking food. Fire causing accidents usually happen when people are working with gas flames or electric heat sources and screw up. Fires in hazmat facilities usually require either a spark, or handling pyrophoric chemicals.
Meat packing is not cooking. Neither is farming. Hazmat are much safer when contained in the specialized room, but scattered around facilities, they are exposed to sparks, puncture or dropping of high pressure contents, leakage/mixing into noxious chemicals and more. You're dealing with overworked/undertained personnel and forklift drivers, poorly maintained conveyors, etc. There isn't the higher incident of catastrophic industrial accidents to match those of burnt-to-the-ground food processors and farms.
Food plants and newer barns are lined with plastic for wash down purposes. I imagine being in a food plant on fire would be the closest thing to Hell on Earth.....
This has all the hallmarks of a WEF operation. I guess the pertinent question is...do you have a garden in your backyard? Do you have a relationship with a locally sourced farmer to obtain meats?
Rabbit husbandry would be a good idea as well. Very good source of manure that doesn't need to compost and they breed like, well, rabbits. Wouldn't be a bad idea to collect easily tradable items that you may not think you need such as cigarettes, cheap wine, vodka, aspirin, etc.
My son wanted to get some backyard chickens but they're already trying to forbid them, claiming "bird flu", in my city they're saying they have to be kept in an indoor coop more than 35 ft from any street or structure.
Agreed collect items that would be valuable when the money system collapses - and it will. The question is not "if" but "when." Believe it or not, bullets could also a form of money as well. As for the coop, I have always advocated for people to own land out in the country - 15 acres or so. Always good to have a 'bug out' place to go when things get bad. Common sense dictates that the cities will be where violence starts - especially when the government checks stop.
Critical shortages of fertilizer brought on by reactionary western policy, rail companies restricting what fertilizer is available by restricting it's shipping at a critical time, skyrocketing fuel prices (a critical input in production and distribution of food), greater number of weather events affecting crops, and all the people who used to call preppers crazy are now asking their advice. Either hell has frozen over or the bottom is about ready to fall out of everything. Engineered or not, famine on a scale we have not witnessed in our lifetimes is about ready to happen. Fairly soon there will be a lot of angry people with guns, knives, and clubs looking for food.
Don't forget Biden paying farmers not to farm, forbidding farmers from working their land because, environment, using corn for ethenol to lower the cost of gas by a dime, buying up crops then destroying them, forbidding the mailing of chicks vis USPS for the first time in US history and euthenizing all the chickens.
Coincidence. Because there are impending food shortages/crises due to the Russian/Ukrainian war, more people are focused on the food system. Fire and other industrial accidents happen all of the time. What is different, however, is that we are +2 years into a pandemic that has resulted in turnover, worker shortages, and supply chain issues that are likely also impacting routine maintenance, training, safety, etc. So, more fires/accidents may be occurring. But, a grand conspiracy to "take down" the food system is highly unlikely. Besides, there are much more effective ways to disrupt the entire food system than a few fires at random processors and distribution nodes.
What if all of these "accidents" are merely a distraction away from this:
"There is a big issue with the food supply in China. In fact, China is hoarding 69% of corn reserves, 60% of rice 51% of the world's wheat supply. This happens when most of your groundwater is too polluted to use, and you've destroyed a good portion of your arable land."
wow its crazy but I just went and heard someone talk about this.... come home, check my mail and you also picked up on it. Strange. Hear the "bird flu" is also coming back.... ie they will have to kill millions of birds and further restrict food supplies - ofcourse for our own good....
It's already happening. They've killed more than 20 million chickens in France, millions in the US and for the first time in US history are not allowing chicks to be sent via USPS. Not one chicken has been sick or shown symptoms, this is all based on the PCR test. Eggs have tripled in price where I live.
And after what we've dealt with over the last 2 years, it is incomprehensible to pass it off as coincidence. I'm sure there are professional bad guys who can make anything appear to be an accident. Official fact-checks that support the status quo narrative that "everything is fine!" is perhaps the biggest red flag.
I have read other stories about this and think these are maintenance issues – not necessarily coordinated sabotage. In a downturn, the first thing to get cut in a manufacturing plant is the maintenance budget. The good tradesmen leave for greener pastures out of frustration because they have their overtime cut and have no proper repair parts to work with. The less skilled tradesmen who stay are good at “McGyvering” machinery and keep it running short term but often ignore engineering specs and end up overloading circuits etc ( hence the mention of electrical issues). Management is under intense pressure to deliver results to corporate office and shareholders, they create the downward spiral but usually get through a couple of quarters first.
Expect more of this, skilled Boomers retired, skilled Gen-x have gone independent, millenials do not have the experience ( or desire to work long hours like us freaks) to handle what is being thrown at them.
“ The claim of a new “trend” of fires at food processing facilities does not hold up upon scrutiny. Almost all of the fires on meme lists involved explainable causes, and we found no examples of suspected arson.”
I think someone needs to point out to snipes that just because it’s not arson does not mean it’s not a trend. But, “narrative”, right?
Burning meat processing facilities would in fact be food savings as for each kilogram/pound of meat you need to spend several kilograms/pounds of grains....
Perhaps the intent is merely to send a message. "We can do this amount of damage now....but if need be, we can do much more". A foretaste, if you will, of what might come. But it's not like there are masses of people here in this country who hate this country enough to burn our food facilities down. Right?
One would think local papers would carry the images of pilots who "died" when they crashed. Hmmm. NTSB has authority over crash sites and only if they discover or suspect a crime does FBI or other law enforcement get involved (other that maybe roping off an area.) Any IDs on the Pilots? Is it not true that basic pilot training involves "If you're going down aim for a clearing" or is it "If you're going down aim for a food processing plant" Just questions.
FOOD BLACKMAIL: another inter-agency mockingbird media regurgitation, newsreaders fig-leaf 'coverage'.

Now here we have some serious data from Motherlord. Astonishing work. Well done. I don't know what to make of that except that it doesn't sound like vegan activists as I first thought (they usually get caught on cctv). This sounds like planned industrial sabotage on a large scale and it is concerning that all the buildings have been completely destroyed. Whoever it is wants to injure Ireland and any other Western countries, not just USA. Looking for motives it would not be North Korea as they would want money for forbearance. The actor is likely to be a cyber attacker not wanting money but wanting economic devastation and that leaves you with just 1 desperate actor who is losing at the moment. China wants to stay out of it for the time being. The game now seems to be that you covertly attack a country and then pretend you have no idea who is causing the damage. Much cheaper than javelin damaged artillery and tanks. Oliver
I deeply respect your work, but planned fires would point into opposite direction - to save food, as animal uprising is very energy/food inefficient - for every kilo of meat you spend at least three or four times amount of grains, not to speak about other costs involved...
Hmmmm....here is definitely foul play going on in the burning of these fowl and meat farms... no evidence of arson - it is simply not being reported. Destruction of food supply world wide and simultaneously and it is happening in broad daylight - they are not hiding it so it is not a conspiracy theory
These facilities certainly have some commonalities when it comes to equipment. Perhaps there are known vulnerabilities that can cause electrical issues and are being exploited by those seeking the Reset? Food shortages have always caused destabilization of societies (for good reason!). If Snopes is already on the case with a fact-checking article, that is a bit of a tell that it's something TPTB is concerned about. Of course, deferred maintenance causes problems, but I'm not really sure if the number and type of events happening is in keeping with statistical norms.
In the US, we average 8 food processing plant fires per year, not always with full destruction. Thus far there have been 25 completely destroyed by fire in 2022.
I blog about preparedness where I encourage people to improve their readiness for a wide spectrum of perils. Recent events provide ample reasons to prepare.
"Food processing plants catching on fire," however, isn't one of them.
Seems like most of these are poultry plants. Amidst a growing outbreak of avian flu, is this a way for poultry farmers to get an insurance payout instead of suffering a catastrophic loss from what be an uninsurable event?
Monkey Werx US has reported that these are cyber attacks. A high pulse of some kind is sent over the internet into the network of the food plant causing overheating of the servers and fire breaks out in the building.
It would depend if this incidence of fires was a significant deviation from the normal number of food processing plant fires. Think how many of these facilities there must be around the world. What's the normal number of fires for them? Any actuaries out there? ;-)
All we need is someone with a stats background and some python skills to collect insurance industry historical data on fires and other industrial incidents, and, scrape the recent food plant fire data from the internet and generate a bunch of comparisons.
An easy start - for example, if there are only 8 such fires in a year total and we have 11 in the first 4 months...
Since 2017 in the US there have been 8 food processing plant fire per year; not all were a complete and total loss, some were minor fires. Thus far in 2022 we've had 25 total loss fires of food processing plants.
I asked Randall Munroe, he explained thusly: https://m.xkcd.com/552/. Similarly how a reader said Bill Gates is "cornering the market" on farmland by buying 1/5300 of the ag land in the US...
A few here in NZ too over the last 12 months. I've put them down to coincidence for now but if there's another one soon I think it moves beyond coincidence.
The funny thing about tin-foil hat conspiracy theories is that once they start, they're proven right in about 6 months. Stay tuned....
As Mike says below you. If it's debunked by Snopes or Politifact, you can almost guarantee it's true.
Call me crazy, but it almost seems like a globalist cabal of Luciferian are attempting to kill off as many people as possible.
Not to mention the 640,000 farm animals that died in floods in British Columbia last fall. But that's just mother nature pissed off. Or is it? 🤔
Yeah, no. Floods like that aren't uncommon in the fall in BC. What is a far more likely culprit is the BC government dragging its feet on fixing the dikes that they were warned could fail. See here: https://vancouversun.com/news/province-was-studying-dike-integrity-but-data-not-to-be-available-until-next-month
It was definitely a pretty extreme event but like you said, the government had lots of warning this could happen.
Certainly something to keep an eye on and maybe make sure you’ve got some canned goods in the cabinet. But I’ve read that we’re slightly above the average amount of incidents at food plants for 2022 (how that number is calculated? F if I know!)

Or a rifle and ammunition...

Don't have verification that this is true, but I've been reading/watching a lot about the absolute ecological basket case China has become.

wow its crazy but I just went and heard someone talk about this.... come home, check my mail and you also picked up on it.

It is a conspiracy, Biden Secretary of AG, Tom Vilsack was arrested by the military. Realrawnews.
I blog about preparedness where I encourage people to improve their readiness for a wide spectrum of perils. Recent events provide ample reasons to prepare.
"Food processing plants catching on fire," however, isn't one of them.
My analysis here:
https://paultmartin.com/blog/f/more-on-those-food-processing-plant-fires
Seems like most of these are poultry plants. Amidst a growing outbreak of avian flu, is this a way for poultry farmers to get an insurance payout instead of suffering a catastrophic loss from what be an uninsurable event?
Its those vegans again........The path to hell is paved with good intentions. Oliver
Monkey Werx US has reported that these are cyber attacks. A high pulse of some kind is sent over the internet into the network of the food plant causing overheating of the servers and fire breaks out in the building.
DEW
It would depend if this incidence of fires was a significant deviation from the normal number of food processing plant fires. Think how many of these facilities there must be around the world. What's the normal number of fires for them? Any actuaries out there? ;-)
All we need is someone with a stats background and some python skills to collect insurance industry historical data on fires and other industrial incidents, and, scrape the recent food plant fire data from the internet and generate a bunch of comparisons.
An easy start - for example, if there are only 8 such fires in a year total and we have 11 in the first 4 months...
Or if there are 5 every month...
Since 2017 in the US there have been 8 food processing plant fire per year; not all were a complete and total loss, some were minor fires. Thus far in 2022 we've had 25 total loss fires of food processing plants.
A lot of exploding hotdogs.
I asked Randall Munroe, he explained thusly: https://m.xkcd.com/552/. Similarly how a reader said Bill Gates is "cornering the market" on farmland by buying 1/5300 of the ag land in the US...
Harvard buying the other 5299 parts I guess.
A few here in NZ too over the last 12 months. I've put them down to coincidence for now but if there's another one soon I think it moves beyond coincidence.
