Great article as always!!! The 1929, dot-com and great financial crisis bear markets all had tremendous rallies within their peak to trough. One would expect this bear to have powerful rallies as well because this bubble is on steroids thanks to the Fed. We are not in a new bull market and a lot of people are going to get hurt as this plays out over the next few years.
Treasury pumping 20-30 billion per month into the economy via ERC. 1 million claims paid, 1 million in the pipeline. Covid era mortgage loss mitigation and foreclosure moratorium extended through October 2024. 43 months of student loan forebearance.
These are but 3 of the reasons we’ve been wrong on the ‘timing’. The govt intervention has been unprecedented and I considered none of the above when I reduced my positions and sizing in late 2021 and again early this year.
It’s coming but like with real estate it could take much longer than we expected.
Side note. What I should have done was dumped all my miners. Haha. They are all down so far now they are not worth selling. I’ve removed their total value from my NAV and like my Gazprom shares they just sit in a separate portfolio and stare back at me mockingly every day. Sucker.
I look at the current trends in the market and compare it to what “investors” did with Game Stop. They made a bankrupt company look like it was very valuable.
It shows the market is broken. QE has put so much money/debt into the market that people are buying bullshit, and don’t seem to care. Everything is a game. The facts no longer matter.
That is what I love about market predictions. "Deadass wrong for 18 months" but sticking to your guns. What are the opportunity costs for being wrong for years at a stretch?
