CDC Quietly Revises Covid Deaths In Kids Lower By 24%, Blames "Algorithm" For "Accidentally Counting" Unrelated Deaths
While you were distracted by Ukraine and Russia, a major Covid "scientific data" revision was taking place. But hey, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...
Heading into mid-terms, health authorities and government continue to quietly clean up the Covid-related mess they’ve created over the last 2 years like officials slowly cleaning up a semi wreck on a highway while “the rest of us”, distracted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, buzz by in the opposite direction doing 60mph, with little time or care to notice the changes being made.
The latest steaming whopper of “scientific data” to be conveniently corrected when no one is paying attention and after it was already used to wield power has been data concerning death tallies in all age groups, even children.
In a little noticed article called “CDC reports fewer COVID-19 pediatric deaths after data correction,” Reuters casually noted late last week that the CDC “corrected” and reduced death tallies in all age-groups, including children.
The adjustments were made on March 14, because the CDC’s “algorithm” was “accidentally counting deaths that were not COVID-19-related”, the report says.
How convenient.
Based on a precursory and rudimentary Google search, it doesn’t appear the revision got much coverage, if any, outside of Reuters’ report.
But despite the lack of coverage, the “adjustment” was meaningful.
It resulted in the removal of “72,277 deaths previously reported across 26 states, including 416 pediatric deaths,” Reuters reported.

This cut the CDC’s estimate of deaths in children by an astonishing 24%, with the number dropping to 1,341 as of March 18. Children make up about 19% of all Covid cases, but less than 0.26% of those cases resulted in death, the report said.
As of today, the CDC is reporting 971,422 Covid deaths, meaning that the removal of the 72,277 deaths marked almost 7% of all Covid deaths1, a material revision lower.
This is all against the backdrop of a nation, heading into mid-terms, growing increasing annoyed with mask restrictions on children, who are disproportionately spared from Covid.
I can’t say the damage control being done is surprising, but I can say that I am stunned by how few have reported on it or recognized it.
I had the feeling coming into 2022 that the truth was not going to be able to escape regulators, the government, nor the American public about Covid.
I started out 2022 by predicting that capitalism and common sense would catalyze a massive pivot in how the mainstream media reports on Covid.
In January, I talked about how I believed that media would eventually start the process of pivoting from its Covid hysteria and that politicians, understanding full well that they can’t get re-elected during mid-terms this year on a platform of locking people in their homes, would follow.
Also in January, I wrote a piece arguing why I thought “Capitalism and Common Sense Would End Vaccine Mandates in 2022”.
As part of that article, I wrote that natural immunity would soon have to be a talking point due to omicron potentially acting as “nature’s vaccine”:
First, after this omicron wave passes, it should hopefully stir up a discussion about natural immunity that’s about 18 months overdue. Putting vaccine mandates aside, Omicron, given its extremely infectious nature and mild effects, may wind up acting like nature’s vaccine for almost everybody anyway. People will start to understand this concept and push harder on “the science” as to why it has conveniently ignore the topic of natural immunity - which has been proven to be more robust than vaccination - thus far.

Then, in early February, just days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine became a news item, I pointed out that the media narrative on Covid was changing “very quickly”.
In late January, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky appeared to have turned her focus to people with comorbidities and “reporters” like Jake Tapper were finally admitting that not everybody hospitalized with Covid hasn’t been hospitalized for Covid.
Again, this was before the media was reporting on Russia/Ukraine 24/7 and before the Biden administration was issuing warnings about an “imminent” invasion.
Also notable earlier this year was the changing attitude of Dr Leana Wen, columnist with The Washington Post and CNN medical analyst who had, in the past, gushed non-stop about following the government’s Covid guidance at all costs. After painting a picture of “fear”, she had all of sudden adopted a skeptical tone about masks, urging the American public to examine the risk/reward of masking up for omicron after spending years blindly urging masks and vaccines at any and all costs.
She also took to Twitter in February to talk about “the other side” of the Covid argument that, last year, would have been written off as “conspiracy theory”. She Tweeted earlier this year:
“It can BOTH be true both that covid-19 causes illness and harm, and ALSO that its continued prioritization, to the exclusion of other issues, does, too.”
“It can BOTH be true that masks reduce respiratory infections and ALSO that they can have unintended harms”
“We must have an honest conversation about masking in schools. Two things can be true at once. Masks work to reduce transmission. And they could cause harm to kids, especially to young learners. There needs to be an ongoing risk-benefit analysis, as there is for any intervention.”
She also retweeted this statement from David Rubin, Policy director at CHOP:
"This is a moment to start removing the restrictions that have been placed on kids. Because the risk to their mental health, learning loss, those types of things are now far greater than the virus itself."
It’s almost as if the narrative shift was planned…
Finally, after writing about the need to embrace natural immunity in early January, the CDC - all of a sudden - started to talk about natural immunity in late January.
A report published by the CDC on January 28, 2022, “finally acknowledges what many have suspected for a long time — that surviving COVID-19 provides excellent natural immunity not only repeat infection but also to hospitalization and death for the delta variant of COVID-19.”
As I noted in January, we had already known about the robust immunity provided by natural immunity for months. Studies in mid-2021 were showing “durable and robust” immunity from natural immunity. According to a large collection of data and trials by Dr. Larry Istrial in his post “Covid 19 Natural Immunity: A Deep Dive”, studies dating back to 2020 continued to confer that natural immunity against Covid was effective.
His comprehensive collection of sources is worth examining closely - not the least of which is Dr. Fauci’s own e-mail exchanges from the inception of the pandemic in March 2020.
Even Senator Rand Paul was exasperated when he called out the administration’s odd penchant for not mentioning anything involving natural immunity. Speaking about Dr. Fauci’s constant media appearances, Paul said in Fall 2021:
“Hey, this guy [Fauci] has an opinion on baseball, hockey, tinder, and Christmas, but he was asked the other day about natural immunity that you acquire after the disease [COVID-19], he is like, "Oh, that is really interesting thought, I never thought about that. I don’t have an opinion because I haven’t thought about naturally acquired immunity."
He has and he is lying to you.
The reason he won’t bring up natural immunity is because it foils his plans to get everybody possible vaccinated. He thinks it might slow down vaccination.
And I’m for people getting vaccinated particularly people at risk, but the thing is, if you ignore naturally acquired immunity then you’re saying we don’t have enough people, you have to force it on younger people.”
What then may have seemed more of a conspiracy theory - that Fauci was purposely ducking the question of natural immunity - today starts to look like the most realistic scenario.
And so with the continued “pivot” and this gross revision of data that was previously used to coerce the media and the American public into doing whatever the government and health officials (and Pfizer) recommended that we do, only one thing is certain in my mind: more changes to the already-established narrative are likely coming as we head into mid-term elections.
Whether they will be covered by the media or will go the way of Hunter Biden’s laptop remains to be seen.
But if there was ever a time to hone and sharpen your investigatory senses, the next few months leading up to the election - while Russia and Ukraine dominate the lede on mainstream news outlets everywhere - is it.
It’s almost like we’ve been lied to for two straight years or something 🤔
And further up the highway is the Russia-is-evil lie... When will we ever learn?
