Yep, the revenue is always less than projected and the spending is always higher than projected leading to greater deficits. Yet politicians continue to believe their own blather.

The purpose of so-called wealth taxes isn' to raise significant revenue from the wealthy - who can always use "clout", "pull" and tax avoidance schemes to avoid or minimize its effects. NO - it's to slowly ratchet down the effective start point to strip the Middle Class of their remaining assets - after the income tax and fiat debt currency debasement have reached their maximum "effectiveness" (beyond which further exactions will collapse the economy entirely).
