The Patriot Act is an anathema to the rights of American citizens and should be repealed immediately. The fact that neither the President or Congress will do so tells you all you need to know about your government.
Americans lost more freedom in this one Act under GW Bush than at any other time in the history of the USA. Not only does Congress refuse to repeal it, but they continue to renew it. The author states that the Patriot Act created the bureaucratic authoritarian state that we currently live under. He is exactly right. It's pure evil.
Since 9/11 was a Deep State False Flag conducted to enable passage of the PREVIOUSLY DRAFTED Patriot Act there's very little chance that it's ever going to be repealed or even modified (in order to abrogate even the worst and most blatant violations of the Fourth Amendment). However, there is a silver lining. The entire warfare/welfare Surveillance State will soon be no more - as this Fourth Turning fragments the US into discrete regions and subregions.
You are only allowed to believe what you are told. The NSA knew where OBL was at all times and was eliminated when no longer useful. We need a new NSA if they didn't, speaking as an ex-cryptolinguist.
In our dreams! The Deep State will never give up its surveillance programs willingly. If it happens it will be because after SHTF Day there is no longer either manpower or financial ability to operate them.
The author "realized" we were under attack from Al-Queda. It's nice to know we aren't holding any grudges as the former Al-Queda leader in Syria is now the Syrian president. Now he's wearing a suit and meeting and greeting with EU and Donnie Trump. If this author believes Osama pulled off 9/11 from a cave in Afghanistan I have my own crypto currency to sell him.
Very nice 360d post. What was the need and how it crept into impacting americans lives and america and continues to enroach on our freedoms and rights. The politicians who pass these laws should be held accountable to higher standards and all these surveillance should be run on them and disclosed to the public, this is one mechanism to ensure that no one is "bought" or owned by others. The long tail of this has now morphed from surveillance into actively removing rights - the bill passed by the house that allows the state dept to confiscate american citizens passports if they criticize Israel. Israel is another country and take care of itself, there is no way any laws preventing criticism of any state should be stopped in America. There should be no calls for violence OR physical hurting of people OR suggestions to do so. God help americans get back to the basics.

I would dispute that Trump is more authoritarian than his predecessors, but otherwise... Yes to all of this.
It was politically easier to hurl an army half way around the world than to end open borders.

I had a meeting literally across the street from the towers that was canceled.
By the way...The real enemies of this country are in Bern, Switzerland.
