I don't know folks. That's a thoughtful overview for sure via QTR.

and yet and yet . . . as Japanese haiku master Issa was won't to say. LOL

Speaking of Japan. Japan is case study in macroeconomic insanity:

1) 1990 10-year govt bond: 8%

2) govt-debt-to-gdp through 90s, 00s, 10s, etc.: 63% rising steadily to 250% Say what! Yes. 200%+ by 2010, and it went up!

What did government yields do?

Rise to Mt. Everest? to Alpha Centauri? Investors said No Mas? Pay us for our risk? 7%, 10%, how much risk for debt-to-GDP over 200%+ and rising??

Alot right? No. Yields went the other way.

They went to zero. and then they went negative!

WTF?

I know. The US is not Japan. That's a fact. After years and years of watching macro forecasts turn to dust and leave a trail of true believer road kill -- I'm not sure what it means.

Whatever it means, it shows predicting the future isn't easy. LOL.

Could they engineer the yield curve lower? Yes, especially if inflation goes lower, and it might! And then where to you put your massive money pools? ECB denominated bonds? China bonds? Japanese bonds? the non-existent China bonds? Emerg Market bonds? Gold?

Hmmm. Treasurys may be ugly but hey, they're big and they're there.

Now all I need to do is remember to sell. I'm really good at buying :)
